The Dandy-Walker Alliance asked families whether their children need assistance with mobility at school. Of the sixty families from all over the U.S. who responded:

  • 43.6 percent of the students never need assistance moving around the school
  • 23.1 percent always need assistance moving around the school
  • 15.4 percent occasionally need assistance moving around the school
  • 10.3 percent almost always need assistance moving around the school
  • 7.7 percent sometimes need assistance moving around the school

  • 22 percent of the students never need assistance in physical education
  • 19.5 percent always need assistance in physical education
  • 19.5 percent occasionally need assistance in physical education
  • 19.5 percent almost always need assistance in physical education
  • 19.5 percent sometimes need assistance in physical education

  • 40 percent of the students never need assistance moving within the classroom
  • 20 percent of the students occasionally need assistance moving within the classroom
  • 20 percent of the students sometimes need assistance moving within the classroom
  • 11.1 percent of the students always need assistance moving within the classroom
  • 8.9 percent of the students almost always need assistance moving within the classroom
