Angelman Syndrome is a genetic disorder involving the gene UBE3a and chromosome 15. Children with Angelman Syndrome generally have severe developmental delays, speech impairments, seizures, and problems with movement and balance. They also are often seen to be smiling, laughing, happy and excited. Although there is no cure for Angelman Syndrome, therapies like OT and PT can help kids reach their full potential, and they usually do not regress once skills are learned.
