Body Odor Basics for Teens With Special Needs

The Deodorant

As with soap, there are a wealth of options for deodorant products available to today's stinky teens. Do just what you did with the cleanser to help your child pick a deodorant.

Look at all the different types. Buy a few and test them out. See what feels best -- a solid? a roll-on? white or clear? scented or unscented?

If your kid likes rocks, one of those sold crystals that can be used as an antiperspirant might be an attractive way to get some protection on. Even powders can increase dryness and reduce odor, if that's your teen's texture of choice.

Make the getting of a new product so exciting that it motivates your offending offspring to actively use up the current one. Buy one for home and one for the gym bag, too.
