Set Up a Free iTunes Account Without Credit Card, Gift Card or Allowance

You'll need to enter an e-mail address for the Apple ID. If you're setting this up for your child, and your child doesn't have an e-mail account already, follow my step-by-step for creating an e-mail account you can monitor, allowing you to keep track of your child's downloads and account correspondence. Select a password and security question, enter your or your child's birthday, and choose whether or not you want to receive iTunes mailings. Then click "Continue."

- Find the list of "Free Apps."
- Click on "Get App."
- Click on "Create New Account."
- Continue to create your account.
- Read and agree to the Terms of Service.
- Create the account.
- Provide billing information.
- Receive notification of verification e-mail.
- Click on verification link in e-mail.
- Receive confirmation that you have successfully created the account.
