1. AMC Summer Movie Club
Catch a kid flick at an AMC theater on a Wednesday morning this summer, and it'll only cost you a buck. Better still, that dollar will go to charities that benefit people with special needs and their families.
2. Angela's Angels
Angela and her mom are collecting money for the National Down Syndrome Society before they attend New York's Buddy Walk in September. Can you help?
3. Autism FreeZone
Looking for supplies for your child with autism -- or to unload supplies you no longer need? Autism FreeZone is a swap spot in which those who have can find those who have not.
4. Family Gathering Survival Kit
Need some protection before you head off to family gatherings this Fourth of July weekend? Our kit has got you covered.
5. Fun Things to Do
Your Saturday super-sized listing of amusements, including a family activity, a site for the kids, a shopping site, a site offering humor or inspiration about parenting children with special needs, and a site that's just silly or fun.
6. Around About
A quintet of articles and blog posts of interest to parents of children with special needs from sites around the About network.
7. Special Needs Information Center
The mainstream site Education.com offers this gathering of information on special-needs issues, where you can "master the jumble of terminology and learn a myriad of methods to support your child."
8. TonerForAutism.com
Ink up for the cause. TonerForAutism donates 5 percent of every purchase of toner or ink cartridges to autism research and support organizations. Could be your organization, if you become a fundraising partner.
9. High Heel-a-Thon
This morning on Live With Regis and Kelly, "hundreds of women wearing high heels will gather in New York City to compete in a spirited dash to raise money for the March of Dimes." Viewers can help by calling in and making pledges. And they don't even have to wear heels to do it.
10. ADHD Moms
Internet support groups have always been a boon to parents of special needs, and I guess this is maybe the logical next step: a Facebook community for mothers of children with ADHD.
