11. Contact a Family
"The only UK-wide charity providing advice, information and support to the parents of all disabled children." On the site, you can find other families with your child's disability, support groups, professional help, local services, entitlements, information, and advice.
12. "Tropic Thunder" Update
This page on The Arc's site gathers together information on why the film (being released today) has been found offensive and material for protesting the movie and the use of the "R" word. Included are a Chapter Action Kit with flyers and posters, a calendar to be updated with local action events, and a media advisory on the press conference taking place at 10 a.m. today in Washington, D.C.
13. Cure Fragile X
The American Express Members Project is at it again, allowing card holders to nominate projects worthy to share in a $2.5 million pot, and encouraging us to vote up the ones we find most fitting. This one has as its goal "Fund medical research aimed at curing Fragile X and autism." It's currently at #10; vote to keep it there, or get your own project going by August 19.
14. Petition: Boycott Dreamworks and Tropic Thunder
(No longer online) The mother of a five-year-old with Down syndrome started this online petition, which currently has more than 2,000 signatures. In addition to adding yours to the list, you'll find addresses, phone numbers, and e-mail contacts of the filmmakers in case you want to make your protest a little more personal.

A project of the Children's Hospital of Boston, "Generation Cures is a groundbreaking online movement for tweens (ages 8-12) and their parents. The Generation Cures website helps kids learn about the power of compassion and giving through original online games, animated webisodes and kid-directed videos." (8/18/08)
18. Autism Assistance Resources
A blog devoted to "grants, financial assistance, funding strategies and other resources to help families coping with autism and other disabilities," from the mother of two girls with autism.
19. Layered Curriculum
If you've wondered how students with widely differing abilities can be served in the same inclusion classroom, the Layered Curriculum program outlined here gives a good example. Though the site is for teachers, it can be instructive to parents to check out the study plans and get an idea of what their schools could be doing.
20. ADHD Moms
The Facebook spot for mothers of children with ADHD currently features an article by Michael Phelps' mom, Debbie, who's serving here as a leader and paid spokesperson.
