31. St. Jude Halloween eCards
Looking for a special Halloween gift, or a fun eCard to send on the spot? St. Jude's lets you make a donation to children's cancer research and mark it with a card designed by a young patient. From the site, you can personalize an eCard, make your donation, and have the card e-mailed out within the hour; there's also a card design you can print out to give in person. Missed Halloween? There are other seasonal cards to choose from, and you can specify a date to send them.
30. Petition: Ask Goodle for a World Diabetes Day Doodle
You've seen those special Google cartoons marking special days on the search engine's main page. The Web communities Tu Diabetes and Diabetes Daily are sponsoring an online petition to request a doodle for World Diabetes Day, November 14. Ad your name by November 1 to help reach the goal of 20,000 signatures.

This nonprofit trains and places service dogs, autism service dogs, skilled companion dogs, and facility/therapy dogs. From the site, you can learn more about the program and put in an application.
28. Blogs Can Change Lives - PSPs for Hospitalized Kids
The blog network 5 Minutes for Mom will be choosing ten seriously ill kids to receive PSP bundles to help them through their periods of hospitalization. From the site, you can find instructions on nominating a child or teen to receive a PSP, and Web buttons and banners for spreading the word.

"The Autism Support Network connects families and individuals touched by ASD with each other, provides support and insight, and acts as a resource guide for treatments, strategies and therapies for autism." Sign-up is free, and groups allow interaction between people with autism, their families, and helping professionals.

24. Diabetes Handprint
No longer online. Write a word on your hand that describes how diabetes has affected your life, and upload a photo of it; or design a "virtual" hand on the site. For each hand submitted, five dollars will be donated to the Diabetes Education and Camping Association or Taking Control of Your Diabetes.
23. Allergy-Free Halloween
From this simple holiday source, you can download a door hanger marking your house as allergy-friendly, find safe treats to hand out, join a Facebook group promoting allergy-free Halloween, and sign up for e-mail updates.
22. ASAN Teens
Teens on the autism spectrum can interact "in a supportive, autistic-friendly internet environment" with this new Yahoo group started by the Autistic Self-Advocacy network. Members "must be on the autism spectrum (self-diagnosed individuals are welcome) and at least 13 years of age."
