Definition:
Sensory Integration Disorder (SID) is still the most popular name for the neurological disability in which the brain is unable to accurately process the information coming in from the senses, but the preferred name is now Dysfunction of Sensory Integration (DSI). Why the change? Mostly, to get a better acronym -- SID being too close for comfort to SIDS, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. See Dysfunction of Sensory Integration for more information.
Also Known As: Sensory Integration Dysfunction, Dysfunction of Sensory Integration, sensory processing problems
