Dice Game Makes Figuring Math Facts Fun

By Terri Mauro, About.com

Here's a fun way to help your child figure different sums that make up the same number: Lay out nine playing cards in a row, Ace through nine (suit doesn't matter). You can also write the numbers one through nine on index cards or scraps of paper and arrange them in order in a row. Roll two dice and add them together. Turn over any combination of two or more cards that add up to the same number. When there are no more cards to turn that will make up the number rolled, add up the cards left. Each round, the player with the lowest total is the winner.
