Down Wit Dat is written by Jen Logan. I asked Jen if she had a message for the fans who put the blog on top, and she wrote:

"I would like to thank each and every one of you that voted for Down Wit Dat. Tirelessly, without fail, you took the effort every day to vote for our little blog. Whether you are family, a friend, an online friend, a colleague or a fan, I want you to know how much I appreciate your efforts. Thanks also to those who left such beautiful tributes; I cannot adequately express how touched I am by them.

"This experience has been like no other. I've found support in the oddest of places. I've had backwards walking-down-the-hallway conversations at the hospital where I work ... ("By the way! I love your blog! I vote for you every day!") ... from people that I only smiled at before. I've been contacted by parents of kids with special needs other than Down Syndrome. I've heard from people who don't have children or even know what a blog is. Regardless, we have all met in the spirit of inclusion, shared our stories and learned from one another.

"Heartfelt thanks should also go to Terri Mauro and the rest of the About.com team, as well as all of the Special Needs nominees. It is through your dedication that any and all of this is actually possible. Alone, we are individuals. Together, we are a community, one that is dedicated to providing a voice for those that often go unheard. I am honoured to be counted among you."

About Down Wit Dat: "Down Wit Dat is the story of an average family with some not so average challenges. We have twins, one of which has Down Syndrome. Our readers laugh and cry with us as we learn what it means to have a son with a learning disability, while observing the not-so-quiet evolution of two parent advocates. Down Wit Dat is our journey with Trisomy 21, from prenatal diagnosis, to delivery and beyond."
