I asked Gabrielle Karampelas, Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and Collaborations for AbilityPath, to send a message to the fans who put AbilityPath on top, and she wrote: "The outpouring of support for AbilityPath during this entire voting process has been nothing short of amazing! The way our community responded and the comments from both parents and professionals we received on our page confirms what we set out to do -- create a social space for special-needs families and professionals to learn, connect and share. Being named the Favorite Special-Needs Online Community is really more a recognition of our members and users who are the ones who really make our community a thriving and supportive network. Thanks to everyone who voted, and voted, and voted, and we were in great company with the other finalists and look forward to partnering with them now too!"
About AbilityPath: "AbilityPath.org is an online hub and special needs community that combines social networking with information and practical solutions to real life topics related to raising children and teens with special needs. AbilityPath released two major reports on bullying and obesity risks for youth with special needs, and with the help of the AbilityPath network, awareness was raised and the special needs perspective is now a part of national dialogues."
