Scholarships for Students with Vision Impairments

These organizations give college scholarships to students who are blind or visually impaired.

American Foundation for the Blind

Applicant must: be legally blind; have been accepted by a college or university; be a U.S. citizenship (for most scholarships); show financial need (for some scholarships).

William and Dorothy Ferrell Scholarship

Applicant must: be legally blind; be studying at the post-secondary level for a career in the field of services to persons who are blind or visually impaired.

Christian Record Services

Applicant must: be legally blind; be planning to attend college as a full-time student on the undergraduate level to secure training that will enable independence and self-support.

The Fred Scheigert Scholarship Program

"This competitive scholarship is available to full-time college students with low vision, chosen from among those who meet the visual acuity and academic guidelines."
