Unless you were able to answer a complete and rousing "Yes!" for every one of those questions, you've got more to learn about your child's school. Write your score on today's square in your school calendar and then pick a goal to increase that knowlege:

Weekly goal: Try to learn one new thing and increase your score by one point every week of the school year.

Marking period goal: Try to make a 10-point increase in your score each quarter of the school year.

Yearly goal: Try for a 40-point increase over the course of the school year.

Category goal: Pick one area in which your knowledge is weak and resolve to increase it.
+ Go to Back-to-School night and take a tour of the building.
+ Drive to the school on the weekend and have your child show you the doors he or she uses, the classroom windows, the playground.
+ Go to meetings and conferences and activities, or just spend a little time browsing the school's Web site.

Competitive goal: Have your spouse take the quiz -- if you did better, give yourself a gold star and bragging rights; if not, study up!

Go back to the questions.
