- Go to Back-to-School night and take a tour of the building.
- Drive to the school on the weekend and have your child show you the doors he or she uses, the classroom windows, the playground.
- Go to meetings and conferences and activities, or just spend a little time browsing the school's Web site.
- Competitive goal: Have your spouse take the quiz -- if you did better, give yourself a gold star and bragging rights; if not, study up!
