Special Animals for Special Kids

Whether they provide a service or just companionship, an animal can be a great help and comfort to a person with special needs. These organizations offer dogs, horses, even monkeys to assist the disabled. You may also be able to train your own pet to help your child.
4 Paws for Ability
Provides support animals for children with special needs, including autism assistance dogs and seizure assistance dogs. Families must participate in fund-raising to be considered for placement of an animal.
The Seeing Eye

Dogs aren't the only guide animals for the blind. This organization offers miniature horses for those who are allergic to dogs, love horses, want an animal that will live longer, or find the little horses easier to handle.
Helping Hands
