Why Do You Think This Character Is on the Spectrum?
Abed makes truthful yet inappropriate comments to his friends and study mates. He has an extensive knowledge of TV shows and can recite dialog perfectly. He has quite a few "quirks." He's very serious and doesn't smile or show emotions much.
Is This a Good Portrayal of Autism or Asperger's?
I think so. He is a very likable character. He doesn't have a lot of friends, but one or two good ones. His friends and classmates accept him the way he is and he is definitely a part of their inner circle.
