What My Kid Did
My kindergarten autistic son won the student of the year award for his regular class.
How It Happened
The teacher allows the class to elect the winner and she says they are never wrong. Even though he pays little attention to his classmates, they love him and can sense his sweet nature. The girls especially love him and follow him around asking him to play - which he sometimes does. We framed the certificate and a picture of him with his teacher. We are so proud of him!
Advice
- Before you have your child placed in a class be sure and observe the teacher and the atmosphere at the school. A good fit can make all the difference!
