How It Happened

Angela is part of SOS players (Skits and Outreach Services) in Hudson Wisconsin. She is the only child with a disability in the organization of 40 kids. They do skits and one-act plays dealing with social issues, and once they're in high school they travel all over the country performing for schools and other community groups. Angela's directors try very hard to make sure her scripts are meaningful to her; that they're things she can identify with. The year before she did another skit about Down syndrome.

Advice

  • It will come. It takes time. Find what your child REALLY likes, and let them run with it!
