Why I Started
I created my own website and blog because I wanted to stay connected to my readers. I self-published Judy's World a few months ago but as soon as I was finished, there were more stories to share and more thoughts to convey. Every day is different with any child and with special needs kids, this is even more true.
My website and blog is an extension of my life. I write about the funny, the trying, the sad and the amazing. I also created a Facebook page as another way to connect with people across the country.
I love to help others through my book, speeches and blog posts!
How I Do It
I typically blog 2-3 times per week. I keep the blogs fairly short because I know everyone's time is so limited. I am VERY personal and detailed about my family life and my thoughts about parenting.
I am literally an open book. I am a parent who is going to make mistakes, learn from them, try not to repeat them and then help others.
I think that in my case, blogging is cathartic. I write from the heart and am honest in my thoughts. I think readers respect this because what you read is what you get.
I have the ability to laugh at myself and my life because without humor I could go crazy.
Advice
- I encourage any parent who wants to start a blog to do so. You never know who you'll meet, inspire or help in the process. It is the most rewarding feeling to know that I have helped other parents. I do not take this for granted and appreciate all of the support I have received to make my world a success.
