Tourette Syndrome Camp USA
- Tourette Syndrome Camp USA, founded in 1994, is a residential camping program designed for girls and boys ages 8 - 16+ whose primary diagnosis is TS, and to a lesser degree, OCD and ADD/ADHD. The goal of the camp is to allow children with TS an opportunity to meet other children, share similar experiences and coping mechanisms in a fun, safe and positive environment. Many counselors are former campers who return to give back to others. Summer camp dates are Sunday June 24 - Saturday June 30, 2012. I was able to volunteer at this camp during its first few years of operation. As one of the longest running camps designed to serve children with TS and associated disorders, TS camp USA has helped many youth to gain new experiences, build self confidence and learn they are not alone. The camp is held at YMCA Camp Duncan which is located 30 miles north of Chicago. http://www.tourettecamp.com

Special Needs Gym Program
- I recently launced a new gym program for special needs children called CFH Special Warriors in Hanover, Pa. Gym programs may be a tremendous resource for children with disabilities. Finding a gym program for a child with special needs can add another layer of challenge to everyday life for parents. Kids learn by having fun. At CFH we like to say "it is so much fun they don't even know it is hard work". Our unique approach combines social interaction, sensory integration, strengthening, coordination, sequencing, and following directions. As each athlete acheives new goals and skills we hope to see an increase in self-esteem and confidence that carries over into their daily activities. CFHSW offers a stimulating program that is developmentally appropiate for each special needs athlete, geared to the individual needs of each athlete. Glade Run Specialized Adventures Camp
- Glade Run Specialized Adventures Camp is wonderful! Campers ranged in disablities with most on the ASD spectrum. Located in Zelienople, PA, they utilize horses and other animals and horticulture activities to make the camp a very rewarding experience for special needs campers. The kids learn social skills while riding horses, gardening, cooking and creek walking. Very close to the "typical" camp experience! Their website is: www.gladerun.org/adventures Check it out!

Camp Sequoia overnight camp in PA
- Camp Sequoia is a great overnight camp outside of Philadelphia that focuses on social skill development. What attracted us to Sequoia is the fact that the camp is on the beautiful campus of a boarding school and focuses on children who may be too high-functioning for most special needs camps yet would not do well in a traditional overnight camp. Their tuition is the most reasonable of all the overnight summer camps we looked into and the staff are warm, understanding people. Most of the campers there are diagnosed with Asperger's, ADHD, high-functioning Autism or NLD.
