Planning for David
- Since David was born I have kept a journal of his milestones, health issues, humorous anecdotes so as an extension I like to prepare a "Summer Recap" of all the major things we have done. This includes academic, OT/PT, Speech, etc. and what worked or didn't. The therapists and teachers at our school are a blessing and give me suggestion lists at the end of the school year to work on over the summer. We don't follow them verbatim but we do a lot of improvisation! David (age 5) is relatively agreeable and willing to take on most of the challenges. I give copies to everyone on his IEP team including the classroom aides so everyone is aware of where he is at. I have received very favorable comments/compliments about how helpful it is for them when it comes to planning his instruction.
