If you're the parent of a child with spina bifida, chances are you've gotten quite an education since you first heard that diagnosis. What would you say today to parents who are just getting the news? Tell them about that book that explained everything, that website full of resources, that e-mail group you still lean on, that experience with your child that made you see things differently. Those of us who have been there have important gifts to give those who have not yet done that. Offer your words of wisdom and experience here. Tell Your Tips

keep swimming

God is still good and God is still soverign. It is easy to drown in guilt when dealing with a diagnosis like spina bifida. But you can not move forward while drowning. You have to start swimming. It's not the pool you might have seen yourself in or the club you wanted to join, but your in it now and it's either drown or swim. God knitted your child together and touched his/her back and is soverignly affecting his/her life and everyone around your child. Just keeping swimming. Rest in the facts not in the feelings. www.raisingtoby.blogspot.com
